EIZO's surgical monitor solutions for hybrid operating rooms
The Sakakibara Heart Institute performed the first successful cardiac trauma surgery in Japan in 1936 and has since established itself as a leading hospital for cardiovascular diseases in the world. The hospital's location in Okayama is a new facility that was opened in September of 2012 with 2 hybrid operating rooms using the latest in medical instruments and equipment. At the new location, they installed EIZO's RadiForce LS560W large monitor and LMM56800 large monitor manager. We asked Senior Director Yoshitaka Hidenori and Radiologic Technologist Koichi Miyake to assess how EIZO's surgical monitor solutions are benefiting the Sakakibara Heart Institute.
Larger, easy to see images give surgeons peace of mind
"The RadiForce LS560W exhibits great contrast and lines and shapes are clear. It displays highly visible images for surgeons. The 56-inch QFHD (quad full high definition) 3840 × 2160 resolution screen and the LMM56800 fit in well with the surgery workflow. In other words, because the display can be configured to the surgeon's preferences, it gives them peace of mind. Enlarged images are of course also displayed in sharp detail. Previously, the surgeon might reach the edges of the screen when doing an operation such as inserting a guidewire. This is no longer an issue with the large screen."
