How many hours and days do you sit in front of your monitor?
Many of us look at our computer screens for longer than anything else.
With the following health benefits, EIZO monitors are the perfect choice for everyday.
Significantly Less Blue Light
Blue light is a primary cause of eye fatigue and sleep-related issues. Research has indicated that Blue-Light exposure at night negatively affects our quality of sleep and body clock mechanism, called the ‘Circadian Rhythm’. We tested how much we could reduce Blue Light emissions, first finding a 20% reduction from lowering colour temperature. Pushing further, we lowered colour temperature and brightness, resulting in a significant 80% reduction in blue light.
To counter the negative impact of Blue Light on our sleep, we introduced a “Circadian Dimming” feature in 2014.
The Circadian Dimming function in Screen InStyle dedicated software for the FlexScan frameless monitors automatically changes the colour temperature of the monitor throughout the day. As the evening approaches, the colour temperature is lowered to a warmer light, reducing blue light emission from the monitor. With the Circadian Dimming feature, you can maintain your body's natural circadian rhythm by setting the monitor to gradually reduce blue light during the evening, helping you sleep easier.
What's your set-up like? Here's what we recommend
With work from home on the rise, a best-practise environment is key to ensuring that you are working at your best. The factors below are important to keep in mind for both home and in the office.
- Ergonomic seating
- Monitor and flexible stand
- A dedicated workspace
- Monitor viewing practises
Your posture is important for body health and working in comfort. We recommend following the diagram below for best practice.
100% Flicker Free
A flickering monitor is the result of backlight dimming (brightness control). There are 2 dimming techniques applied to LCD monitors: PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation and DC (Direct Current)
The majority of monitors today are LED-backlit LCD monitors. Interestingly, the number of reported cases of eye fatigue caused by screen flickering has increased since the popularisation of LED-backlit monitors. This can even affect the eyes of people who don't notice backlight flickering.
With an EIZO Monitor, flickering is a thing of the past. Most monitors utilise PWM or DC dimming technology to prevent flickering on the screen. EIZO utilises a mixture of both PWM and DC dimming technology that enables 100% flicker-free viewing and colour stability, down to 1cd/m2.
Minimum Brightness of 1cd/m2
In a dimly-lit work environment, low brightness settings are critical for comfort of use. Eizo monitors are adjustable to approximately 1 cd/m² which is less than 1% of the maximum brightness, enabling best practice for your health and work environment.
Paper Mode
In Paper mode, the colour and contrast display is similar to paper. With this excellent feature, the colour temperature is lowered with the touch of a button. Lowering the colour temperature to be warmer reduces blue light substantially. With the optional Auto EcoView function, the built-in illuminance sensor detects ambient brightness and automatically takes the display brightness down to the optimal viewing level.
Anti-glare Coating
Screen reflections are caused by ambient lighting which can cause visual discomfort and lowered productivity. Eizo monitors are treated with an anti-glare coating that scatters incoming light, reducing the amount of light reflected into your eyes.
Ergonomic Stand
Let the monitor do the work. Monitor stands that are not adequately adjustable result in the added work of bad posture and practise. For comfortable viewing, our ergonomic stands enable you to angle the monitor for healthy viewing practises to prevent issues such as neck and back strain.
